Our engagement in 2023

Renewables, Climate and Future Industries Tasmania (ReCFIT) as the REZ Coordinator has spent the last year in the north west, talking to community members and exploring its potential to host the state's first REZ.
We believe that REZs have the potential to deliver a range of beneficial outcomes for Tasmanian communities. To make sure this happens, we’re bringing community along with us to define what REZ means in the north west.
We will continue our engagement program throughout 2024, focusing on a regional community benefit sharing scheme and local perspectives on the boundary of the Proposed Zone.
We want to hear your feedback on our Proposed REZ. Click here to learn how they were determined, and to tell us what you think.
From our learnings in 2023, we have been able to shape several elements of our proposed REZ. One of these elements is a regional benefit sharing scheme, made for community by community.
